Amendments to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation adopted in the first reading
The draft Federal Law No. 902847-8 “On Amendments to the Labor Code of the Russian Federation” is currently considered by the State Duma.
These amendments envisage, in particular, the consolidation of guarantees for employees who continue to work part-time after leaving their main job. If the contract is terminated due to liquidation of organization or staff reduction, such employees will be paid severance pay (subclause “a” of clause 1 of the draft).
Similarly, it is planned to clarify the guarantees for persons working in the Far North and equivalent areas (paragraphs “a” of paragraph 2 of the draft).
This legislative initiative in question appeared after the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation indicated that, if dismissed on these grounds, payments for the period of employment should be made, among others, to part-timers.
