Central Bank Dismisses Rumors of Freezing Citizens' Bank Deposits

The Bank of Russia has categorically denied rumors circulating in the information space regarding a potential freeze on citizens' bank savings. The regulator's leadership labeled such scenarios as absolutely impossible and absurd, emphasizing that no such measures are being considered by financial authorities under any circumstances, and the idea itself contradicts the core principles of the financial system.

The public concern was triggered by a resonant statement from an economic expert who suggested that the government might resort to a forced freeze of funds to curb rising inflation rates.
