Russia Ranks Third in Global Salmon Production

Russia has secured the third position worldwide in the production of salmon fish. Domestic fish farmers achieved great success in aquaculture. The total volume of farmed red fish increased over recent years. This growth helped strengthen the national food security.

Modern technologies improved the overall quality of fish. New facilities were built across the Far East and other regions. They supply high-quality fry to fish farms. Special domestic feeds also played a key part. They successfully replaced expensive foreign products.

The state actively supports the fishing industry. Farmers receive special loans and financial aid. This system lowers their business risks. The local market now has enough fresh fish. Salmon prices became more stable for regular buyers.

Russian fish exports continue to grow as well. New trading partners appeared in Asian countries. The industry plans to raise production volumes even higher. Russia aims to keep its high spot on the global market.
