Since January 01, 2025, a new progressive personal income tax scale is in effect
In relation to incomes of up to 2.4 million rubles per year, personal income tax rate remains 13%.
Higher rates are applied since the beginning of the year to the incomes exceeding this amount:
· 15% rate is applied to the part of tax bases amount that exceeds 2.4 million rubles, but does not exceed 5 million rubles;
· 18% rate is applied to the part of tax bases amount that exceeds 5 million rubles, but does not exceed 20 million rubles;
· 20% rate is applied to tax bases amount that exceeds 20 million rubles, but does not exceed 50 million rubles;
· 22% rate is applied to the amount of tax bases that exceeds 50 million rubles.
In relation to income deriving from investments, interest on deposits, sale of real estate or dividends from entrepreneurial activities, personal income tax from the beginning of 2025 is calculated as follows:
· 13% rate is applied to income up to 2.4 million rubles;
· 15% rate is applied to income exceeding 2.4 million rubles.
Personal income tax in relation to percentage salary allowances for work experience in the Far North and equivalent areas and certain types of income related to the special military operation is calculated in the same way: 13% rate is applied to amounts up to 5 million rubles per year and 15% rate is applied to amounts exceeding 5 million rubles.
Incomes to which different rules for determining rates apply are not summed up.
