On March 13, 2025, a regular meeting of the Committee on Legal Affairs of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce was held. The meeting was attended by representatives of legal and business circles of Russia and Germany.

Svetlana Makarova, Managing Partner of Mosgo & Partners, made a presentation on the topic “Environmental fee for importers under the new rules”.

When making her presentation before the participants of the meeting, Svetlana Makarova told in detail what constitutes the environmental fee and what changes to its regulatory framework were introduced as a result of the 2024 reform. Svetlana paid special attention to the differences in the order of payment of the environmental fee in connection with imports from the EAEU countries and from other countries, as well as the risks that entrepreneurs may face in case of failure to pay the environmental fee or failure to submit reports.

Svetlana Makarova’s speech aroused great interest among those present. This is not surprising, since the environmental fee affects to some extent many enterprises of the real sector of economy.
