United Russia Proposes Simplifying the Process for Child Benefit Applications

The United Russia party has introduced an initiative to transition the process of granting and renewing the unified child benefit into a fully automated format. Tatyana Butskaya, First Deputy Chair of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, sent an official request to the Minister of Digital Development, Maksut Shadaev, asking to evaluate the technical feasibility of implementing this mechanism.

The primary goal of the proposal is to relieve Russian families from the requirement of submitting new applications and gathering documents annually, provided that their living conditions and income levels remain unchanged. According to the authors of the project, the current state of digitalization within government agencies allows for the automatic extension of benefits by utilizing existing databases from the Federal Tax Service and financial institutions. The system would independently verify citizen incomes and renew the payments without requiring a formal application.

Additionally, as part of the modernization effort, the initiative suggests creating a specialized section on the Gosuslugi portal titled “Gosuslugi. Family”. This platform would consolidate all information regarding available support measures, and the system would be able to proactively alert parents if changes in their income might cause them to lose eligibility for the benefits.
